What church is Grounded affiliated with?

Grounded is not affiliated with any church. Grounded was founded in January of 2023 when the Lynde family was visiting churches in order to find a new church home. We believe a youth group experience is very important. A youth group may be part of a church but, a youth group alone, is not a church. Grounded exists to provide a youth group experience for students who are not part of a church family and for students who are part of a church family that does not have a youth group. We also welcome students who are part of another youth group to join us as they feel led by God and directed by their parents.

What denomination is Grounded affiliated with?

Grounded is non-denominational. We are committed to preaching God’s Word and teaching what we consider to be conservative, biblical Christianity. We have not developed a statement of faith but are prayerfully considering if, when, and how we should go about doing so. We affirm the Apostles Creed and the Nicene-Constaninople Creed and are glad to discuss the beliefs that will be espoused at Youth Group.

What is being taught and discussed?

We are committed to teaching God’s Word. Our teaching is almost always expository. We started a series in the Gospel According to Mark in January and expect that series to last through the summer and fall. We are working toward publishing some video content online, and we welcome parents to reach out anytime. In fact, we are 100% okay with parents visiting to check out our teaching.

What does the discussion time consist of?

Sometimes we have a short discussion time after the message. The discussion is based off the text. There may be some occations for gender-specific discussion groups but generally the discussions are co-ed. Students also have an opportunity to share prayer requests; however, nobody is pressured to share in prayer groups or within the discussion groups.
